The aim of this project was to use fetish as a foundation to redesign a mundane everyday object.

               The fetish I used was the undying obsession and fetish for our country, India. Mark Twain once said "India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grandmother of tradition. Our most valuable and most instructive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only."

                This project is a redesign of the current postcards, with two main aims- to make it more personal, and provide more space for writing. After researching about why India is so appealing, I used personal as well as public opinion to create weaves that constitute the personal aspect of the postcard. Now because there is another layer to the postcard now, the center (pocket) can be used as extra space for a person to write something and slip it in. This space provides more space for writing.

               This product will be used by travellers who visit India, and travellers who wish to visit India. It could be used by anyone, since it can be posted throughout the world.
